If the 30th SR4 is the best Stingray ever, this is definitely the best Stingray 5 ever. Gone are the bevels around the front of the body and the binding was added. The pickguard, which caused some much consternation on certain forums, is gone, and replaced by a gorgeous maple top over the ash body. The preamp was re-designed and updated to take advantage of the alnico pickup. Or "alnico pickups", if you want a dual pickup version. I like the single H. This particular instrument is - yes, it's obvious - very special. Big thanks and love to the Ball Family and the guys at the factory, especially VonThomas, for making this one mine.
