Late model orange Fender Hot Rod Precision
bass that came to me (briefly) in a trade with Ray Duke, who (briefly) made off with
the coveted black sparkle Sterling. This was the first modern Precision I'd played
that really appealed to me - I've always liked the sound, just
not crazy about the ergonomics. The neck on this one is a bit
more like a Jazz sized neck, so seemed to fit my left hand much
better and didn't make my hand cramp!
After a short stint at Camp Bovine, the Hot Rod P went back home to Ray, who by all accounts is very happy with it. I got the Sterling back and, by all accounts, I am also very happy. Yes, yes, we're gear whores, but if it makes us happy....
