Acquired
in the summer of 2003 from local bass god Chuck Moses, who initially
REFUSED to give me my OWN STRINGS off the Lakland 55-63 which
went to him in trade. He later came to his senses. This is a
USA Lakland 55-94 in Inca Silver with the Bartolini pickups and
preamp. This is the most 'civilized' bass at Camp Bovine, which
for a while didn't appeal to me that much - given my Stingray-Jazz
addiction, I'm accustomed to a more aggressive tone. Recently,
after spending more time playing this bass, I've come to realize
that having different sounds with different basses is probably
okay. I toyed with the idea of changing the Barts out for the
Seymour Duncans, which are by all accounts much meaner, but have
come to the conclusion that this is the bass I'll need when Shawn
Colvin calls me up. |
