Fretless Musicman Stingray 5 What was I thinking? My first attempt at fretless was an unlined five string - clearly I was smoking crack. Nonetheless, I gave it my best and, after many months of frustration, I actually became a bit more comfortable with that vast expanse of blank plank, but it was never really me. I bought this bass from Chad Thurman in May of 2000, and man this bass always got nice compliments - a very beautiful instrument. I kept this bass for two years, which is a long time for me, but in the end decided I might be better off with something fretted.
